Overview

Satbayev University is Kazakhstan's oldest technical university, established in 1934 and located in Almaty. Named after the prominent geologist Kanysh Satpaev, the university plays a significant role in the country's industrial and technological development, particularly in mining, metallurgy, oil and gas, and information technology.

As a national research technical university, Satbayev integrates education, science, and industry to address contemporary challenges and promote economic growth in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. It offers a range of undergraduate, graduate, and PhD programs across 10 institutions and approximately 30 departments, focusing on technical fields such as industrial engineering, cybernetics, and architecture.
