The New Mexico State Personnel Office (SPO) oversees the classified service personnel system for approximately 17,000 state employees across 68 executive state agencies, boards, and commissions. The Career Services Bureau is a key division focusing on compliance with the State Personnel Act and State Personnel Board Rules.

SPO's mission is to enhance the employee experience through effective human resources practices.
