Overview

Jazz at Lincoln Center (JALC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to jazz, established in 1987 as part of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City. It opened its permanent home, the Time Warner Center (now Deutsche Bank Center), in October 2004. JALC's mission is to entertain, enrich, and expand a global community for jazz through performance, education, and advocacy.

The organization features a state-of-the-art complex designed for jazz acoustics, including the Rose Theater, The Appel Room, and Dizzy’s Club. The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JLCO), led by Wynton Marsalis, is a renowned big band performing regularly in New York and internationally. JALC also prioritizes jazz education through school visits, outreach initiatives, and celebrates the rich history and legacy of jazz music.
