Overview
Indiana University Dance Marathon (IUDM) is a student-run philanthropy established in 1991 at Indiana University to honor Ryan White. As the nation's first Miracle Network Dance Marathon benefiting Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, it orchestrates year-round fundraising efforts culminating in a 36-hour Dance Marathon each November at the IU Tennis Center. Participants engage in dancing, basketball tournaments, and family meetings to support children who cannot participate themselves.
Having raised over $56 million for Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, IUDM funds pediatric care and research initiatives. Key events include the Dance Marathon Weekend, Color Wars, and community service activities. Each year sees participation from hundreds of committee members and dancers, making it one of the largest student-run philanthropies in the United States. The next Dance Marathon is scheduled for November 7-9, 2025.
