Overview

The Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (GI-KACE), also known as AITI-KACE, is Ghana’s first Advanced Information Technology Institute, established in 2003 through a partnership between the governments of Ghana and India. The centre aims to stimulate growth in the ICT sector in Ghana and the ECOWAS region by focusing on capacity building, research, innovation, consultancy, and eGovernance solutions.

GI-KACE operates under the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation of Ghana and features West Africa’s first supercomputer. It offers training programs to develop ICT skills, applied research in technology solutions, and consultancy services for ICT and eGovernance implementations. The centre collaborates with educational institutions to enhance digital skills training and supports initiatives aimed at preparing the workforce for the digital economy. With modern facilities, GI-KACE serves government agencies, educational institutions, private sector companies, and individuals, contributing to the region’s digital transformation and technological development.
