East-West Seed is a Dutch family-owned company founded in 1982 in the Philippines by Simon Groot, a noted agriculturist. The company specializes in breeding, producing, and distributing high-quality tropical vegetable seeds tailored to local conditions across Asia, Africa, and Latin America. With a mission to enhance smallholder farmers' incomes, it focuses on improving yields, disease tolerance, and sustainable agricultural practices.

Headquartered in Nonthaburi, Thailand, the company has over 40 years of experience and supports nearly 20 million smallholder farmers. East-West Seed operates 17 to 22 R&D centers in multiple countries, offering more than 900 hybrid and open-pollinated vegetable varieties and exporting to over 53 countries. Through extensive training initiatives, it has reached more than 840,000 farmers to date, emphasizing collaboration to improve agricultural practices and livelihoods within the communities served.
