Overview

ZetaChain is a Layer 1 blockchain platform founded in 2021 and based in San Francisco, California. It is designed to enable seamless interoperability across various blockchains, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, without the need for bridges or wrapped tokens. Operating as a Proof of Stake (PoS) network built on the Cosmos SDK, the platform allows developers to create Universal Apps (omnichain dApps) that can interact with multiple chains and execute smart contracts across different ecosystems.

Key features include a Universal EVM for dApps, efficient cross-chain asset transfers, and Universal Smart Contracts integrating functionalities across multiple blockchains. Since early 2024, the network has supported over 11.6 million unique addresses and recorded more than 228 million transactions. Its native ZETA Token is used for gas fees, staking, and cross-chain transfers, and a suite of developer tools enables decentralized exchanges and yield protocols, building a dynamic ecosystem for mass adoption.
