Overview

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) is a public research university located in Omaha, Nebraska. Established in 1908, it was originally called the University of Omaha and became a municipal university in 1930. In 1968, UNO joined the University of Nebraska System as the state's metropolitan campus, offering a student-centered environment characterized by community engagement, accessibility, and diversity.

UNO provides over 200 academic programs across six colleges, featuring modern facilities in disciplines such as engineering, information technology, business, and biomechanics. The campus includes more than 60 facilities for classes, athletics, and research, and is home to the Omaha Mavericks, competing in 15 NCAA Division I sports.
