Overview

The University of Delaware (UD) is a privately governed, state-assisted land-grant research university located in Newark, Delaware. Established in 1743, it is one of the oldest universities in the United States. UD offers more than 150 majors and minors, and provides over 250 graduate and post-baccalaureate programs through its 10 colleges and schools, serving approximately 24,412 students. The university stresses a personalized learning environment, maintaining a 12:1 student-faculty ratio and an average class size of 35.
