Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) is a public university located in Surabaya, Indonesia, established on December 19, 1964. It evolved from earlier teacher training courses and was originally named Institut Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Surabaya. In 1999, it gained full university status and adopted its current name. UNESA is dedicated to character development alongside academic excellence, reflected in its motto, "Growing with Character."

The university operates across two campuses, offering a wide range of academic programs through seven faculties: Science Education, Language and Arts, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Law, Engineering, Sports Science, and Economics and Business. UNESA provides approximately 61 undergraduate, 10 diploma, 16 master's, and 6 doctoral programs, serving over 28,000 students with more than 800 academic staff. The university also features a Language Centre and an Institute for Research and Community Service, playing a vital role in higher education and community engagement in Indonesia.
