This international development organization was established in 1992 to continue the work of Professor Fred Hollows, a New Zealand-born ophthalmologist. The Foundation specializes in eliminating avoidable blindness, restoring sight, and improving access to eye health, with a particular focus on Indigenous Australians and communities in low- and middle-income countries.
