Tamkeen

Overview

Tamkeen is a semi-autonomous government agency in Bahrain, established in 2006 to support the private sector and drive economic development. Chaired by His Excellency Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al Khalifa, it aims to empower Bahrainis by providing opportunities for personal and professional growth.

The agency offers more than 200 programs focused on funding, training, entrepreneurship support, and business consulting. Tamkeen has invested BHD 2 billion to enhance funding for small and medium-sized enterprises and support the training and employment of Bahraini individuals. Serving individuals, enterprises, and women, its initiatives are designed to improve employability and foster new ventures. Tamkeen has positively impacted over 140,000 Bahrainis and businesses, helping them thrive in a competitive labor market.
