The State University of New York at Cortland (SUNY Cortland) is a public university located in Cortland, New York. Established in 1868 as the Cortland Normal School, it transitioned into a comprehensive four-year college by 1941 and became part of the SUNY system in 1948. Officially renamed SUNY Cortland in 2023, the university serves nearly 7,000 students on a 200-acre campus.
