Qatar Mobility Innovations Center (QMIC)

Overview

Qatar Mobility Innovations Center (QMIC) is the first independent national innovations center in the Middle East, established in 2009 by Qatar University. Located at the Qatar Science and Technology Park, the center focuses on developing advanced smart mobility systems and services through research and development initiatives. It aims to create home-grown technology industries that address regional challenges and support Qatar’s national strategies.

With specializations in Intelligent Mobility and Smart Cities technologies, and a strong emphasis on Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, QMIC provides platforms and services in Intelligent Transport Systems, Logistics, Telematics, Road Safety, and Environmental Monitoring. By leveraging distributed sensing and data management technologies, it delivers innovative solutions tailored to regional needs and collaborates with partners to promote the commercialization of mobility technologies for enhanced efficiency and sustainability in Qatar and beyond.
