Platte-Clay Electric Cooperative (PCEC) serves more than 26,500 active services and maintains over 3,100 miles of energized line across Buchanan, Caldwell, Clay, Clinton, DeKalb, Platte, and Ray Counties in metropolitan Kansas City's Northland region. Established in 1938, PCEC has grown to be one of Missouri's fastest-expanding electric cooperatives.
The organization is a member of Touchstone Energy, a nationwide alliance of local, member-owned rural electric cooperatives in 46 states. These cooperatives constitute the largest electric utility network in the United States, serving over 30 million members and covering about 75 percent of the U.S. land area with more than 2.4 million miles of power lines.
