Originally founded in 1972 as Dansk Naturgas A/S, the company transitioned from a focus on fossil fuels to become a global leader in green energy, particularly in offshore wind. The organization has committed to enabling a world powered entirely by green energy and aims to be coal-free by 2023.

Specializing in renewable energy generation with a strong emphasis on offshore wind farms, the company operates 24 offshore wind farms and has four more under construction, including projects in Taiwan. Its notable initiatives include the Hornsea Project Two in the UK, which supplies low-carbon electricity to 1.6 million homes.
