Overview

NWEA is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting students and educators globally through research-based assessment solutions. With over 40 years of experience, the organization develops pre-K–12 assessments and professional learning tools focused on enhancing student growth and proficiency. Its research-driven products are utilized in more than 140 countries and trusted by over half of the schools in the United States.

The MAP Suite, NWEA's flagship offering, provides formative and interim assessments in subjects such as math, reading, language, and science. Leveraging the RIT scale, these tools enable educators to gain actionable insights for individual instruction and student progress tracking. In 2023, NWEA became a division of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, furthering its mission within a larger educational framework while supporting a diverse base of educators, students, and schools.
