Nunatsiavut Government

Overview

Established in 2005 with the signing of the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement, this organization is the first Inuit region in Canada to achieve self-government—an important milestone for all Labrador Inuit.

As a distinct fourth level of government, guided by the Labrador Inuit Constitution, it oversees the operations and management of programs, services, budgets, and business and employment initiatives.
