The district’s boundaries stretch from the Nevada state line in Crystal Bay to Dollar Hill, serving the communities of Kings Beach, Tahoe Vista, Brockway Vista, Carnelian Bay, Cedar Flat, and Agate Bay.
Water services were added in 1967, followed by the creation of a Recreation and Parks Department in 1968. The district manages and maintains most public beaches within its service area, as well as the North Tahoe Regional Park and the North Tahoe Event Center. Currently, it operates 5,524 sewer connections and 3,828 metered water connections.
