Overview

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) is a state agency focused on delivering health and human services to all residents of North Carolina, particularly vulnerable populations such as children, the elderly, disabled individuals, and low-income families. Established in 1997, the agency operates from its headquarters in Raleigh and oversees a network of centers and hospitals statewide.

NCDHHS manages 30 divisions and offices organized into four service areas: health, human services, administrative, and support facilities.
