Mundelein High School is a comprehensive one‐building district housing grades 9‐12. The district covers a 36‐square mile area and serves the needs of 2,033 students from Mundelein and surrounding communities. Situated on Chicago's North Shore, approximately 40 miles north of Chicago, neighboring high schools include Libertyville, Vernon Hills, Stevenson, Lake Zurich, and Grayslake.

Since the 2016‐2017 school year, the high school includes two STEM labs, Project Lead the Way instruction, and a Business Incubator Lab.
