Mimosa Mining Company
Overview
Operating on the Great Dyke in Zimbabwe's Zvishavane District, this platinum group metals mining operation is a 50:50 joint venture between Sibanye-Stillwater and Impala Platinum, managed via a Mauritius-based entity. Established in 1926, it stands as the country's oldest platinum mine, making a substantial contribution to Zimbabwe’s economy and its PGM exports.
The mine employs a large direct workforce and supports extensive supply chains. Utilization of underground mining techniques and an on-site concentrator allows for high recovery rates, currently producing over 120,000 ounces of platinum each year. Extensive mining rights within the Wedza Geological Complex underpin plans for further operational investment and lifecycle extension.
