Overview

Kean University is a public urban research university located in Union, New Jersey. Founded in 1855, it is the first public postsecondary institution in the state, originally established as a teachers college. The university serves over 18,000 undergraduate and graduate students from around the world, emphasizing equity, excellence in teaching, and public engagement.

It offers more than 50 undergraduate majors and over 70 graduate programs, including six doctoral options. The academic structure comprises schools of Business, Government and Technology; Education; Liberal Arts; and Natural Sciences, Nursing and Mathematics.
