Overview

Founded in California in 1995, Interwoven specialized in enterprise content management (ECM) systems, offering a suite of software solutions for managing and optimizing web applications and documents. Its flagship product, TeamSite, enabled organizations to create and manage complex web content, while WorkSite facilitated document management and efficient search capabilities, including email organization.

The company established a strong presence in the legal sector, serving approximately 1,200 top law firms and 21 of the Forbes Global 30. Interwoven went public in 1999 and was acquired by Autonomy Corporation in 2009 for about $775 million. Subsequent acquisitions saw Autonomy absorbed by Hewlett-Packard in 2011, and OpenText acquiring the Interwoven product line in 2016, with TeamSite continuing under the OpenText umbrella.
