International GNSS Service (IGS)

Overview

The International GNSS Service (IGS) is a global federation established in 1994, dedicated to providing free and open access to high-quality Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) data, products, and services. Comprising over 200 self-funding agencies, universities, and research institutions from more than 100 countries, IGS operates a network of over 500 geodetic-quality tracking stations that monitor signals from various GNSS constellations, including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS, and NavIC.

IGS generates precise satellite orbit and clock data, which are essential for accurate positioning, navigation, and timing applications. Its mission is to support the terrestrial reference frame, Earth observation, scientific research, and PNT applications. The organization provides a range of products, including precise satellite ephemerides, real-time and post-processed GNSS tracking data, and monitoring of Earth rotation and atmospheric conditions. These resources are utilized by a diverse user community, including researchers, government agencies, commercial entities, and educational organizations, contributing to advancements in science and society.
