ICT Authority

Overview

ICT Authority (ICTA) is a Kenyan State Corporation established in August 2013 under the Ministry of Information Communication and Technology. It was formed by merging three government entities to streamline the management of ICT functions across the Government of Kenya. The Authority focuses on enforcing ICT standards, supervising electronic communications, and promoting ICT literacy and innovation in line with national ICT strategies.

Its mission is to enhance public service delivery and support economic growth through effective use of ICT. Core functions include developing secure ICT infrastructure, facilitating e-Government services, and providing training programs to build digital skills among citizens and public servants. The Authority also supports innovation through initiatives that help turn ideas into sustainable businesses. It serves a broad spectrum of stakeholders, ensuring access to digital services and promoting a digitally empowered society.
