Guilford College is a private liberal arts college located in Greensboro, North Carolina. Founded in 1837 by Quakers, it is the only Quaker-founded college in the southeastern United States and the oldest coeducational college in the South. Originally established as the New Garden Boarding School, it became a four-year liberal arts college in 1888. Guilford is among the 100 oldest colleges in the U.S. and the fourth oldest in North Carolina.
