Overview

GS Caltex Corporation is a prominent South Korean energy and chemical company, established in 1967 as the first private oil company in Korea through a joint venture with Caltex Petroleum Corporation. It is jointly owned by Chevron and GS Group. The company operates one of the largest refineries in the world, the Yeosu Complex, which has a refining capacity of approximately 790,000 barrels per day.

Supplying about one-third of South Korea's oil needs and exporting over 60% of its products to more than 57 countries, GS Caltex offers a diverse product portfolio that includes jet fuel, lubricants, greases, and various petrochemicals like aromatics and polypropylene. With additional production facilities in Mexico, the Czech Republic, China, and Korea, the company extends its global reach and is recognized for its commitment to technological advancement and continuous expansion in refining and petrochemical capacities to serve both domestic and international markets.
