Fresh Start Women's Foundation

Overview

Fresh Start Women's Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Phoenix, Arizona, dedicated to empowering women through education and comprehensive support services. Founded over 20 years ago by sisters Pat Petznick and Beverly Stewart, the foundation aims to assist women who become sole family supporters. It began with pampering days for women in shelters and has since expanded to offer a wide range of self-improvement and career-enhancing programs.

The foundation provides free or low-cost services, including personal development workshops, family law support, career resources through the Goodwill Career Center, e-learning opportunities, mentoring programs, and scholarships. It employs an evidence-based approach called the Bridge to Self-Sufficiency®, focusing on five key pillars to address challenges women face. Each participant receives personalized coaching from a social worker. The organization is committed to creating a respectful, supportive, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed environment.
