Overview

Foothill College is a public community college located in Los Altos Hills, California. Founded in 1957, it has grown significantly from serving a small number of students to over 23,000 annually. The college opened its permanent campus in 1961 and was the first in California to achieve full accreditation in under six months. The campus features innovative neo-Japanese/Pacific style architecture and has received several awards for its design.

The college offers a broad spectrum of academic, vocational, and transfer programs to support a diverse student body. Notable initiatives include history courses that prepare students for various careers and the "Pass the Torch" program, which facilitates peer-assisted learning. It actively supports student transfer to four-year universities and grants a range of degrees and certificates across multiple disciplines.
