Overview

Founded in 1923 by the Sisters of Mercy in Omaha, Nebraska, this Catholic women's college is the only all-women's institution in a five-state region and has developed from its origins as a two-year teacher’s college into a comprehensive university. The school offers associate, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees, with a strong emphasis on career-oriented education.

The academic offerings include fields such as medical technology, nursing, business administration, occupational therapy, and liberal arts. Graduate programs feature a Master of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Education, and Doctor of Education degrees. Men are admitted to graduate programs, but the undergraduate experience remains focused on women.
