Overview

The CNIB Foundation (Canadian National Institute for the Blind) is a charitable organization in Canada, established in 1918. It supports Canadians who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision, originally created to assist soldiers blinded in World War I. Today, CNIB empowers individuals with vision loss to lead independent and fulfilling lives.

CNIB offers a variety of services and programs, including life-skills training, rehabilitation counseling, accessible library services, employment support, and public education. The organization also engages in advocacy to promote awareness and rights for people with vision loss, along with accessible design consulting and vision health information initiatives.
