Overview

The California Institute of the Arts is a private coeducational institution located in Valencia, California. Established in 1961 through the merger of the Los Angeles Conservatory of Music and the Chouinard Art Institute, it was inspired by Walt Disney's vision of creating a vibrant community for artists. The school opened in 1970 and moved to its current 60-acre campus in 1971, featuring a comprehensive facility designed for artistic education.
