Atlanta Housing
Overview
Atlanta Housing (AH), officially known as the Housing Authority of the City of Atlanta, Georgia, is the largest housing authority in the state and one of the largest in the recreational nation. It provides affordable housing resources to nearly 27,000 low-income households, serving approximately 43,000 individuals. AH is led by President and CEO Terri M. Lee and operates under the Moving to Work (MTW) designation, primarily funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Established in 1938, AH has a rich history of promoting urban renewal and providing safe, decent housing for low-income families. The agency offers a variety of housing programs, including AH-owned residential communities, the Homeflex program for rental assistance, mixed-income community developments, and the Housing Choice Voucher Program. AH also provides additional services such as counseling for at-risk households and down payment assistance for homeownership. AH continues to make a significant impact in the Atlanta community.
