Overview

The American Arbitration Association (AAA) is a not-for-profit organization established in 1926 and headquartered in New York City. Specializing in administering arbitration, mediation, and other alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services, the AAA provides individuals, businesses, and organizations with effective ways to resolve conflicts outside of traditional court proceedings. Through its standardized rules and procedures, the AAA ensures fairness and efficiency throughout the resolution process.

With a network of over 50,000 arbitrators, the AAA manages tens of thousands of cases annually across multiple industries, such as construction, labor, and commercial disputes. It also operates the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), handling international cases in more than 80 countries. The AAA offers comprehensive ADR administration, including arbitrator and mediator appointments, hearing scheduling, and custom ADR system design. Additionally, the organization provides education and training on ADR practices to further the advancement of dispute resolution.
