Agentforce Coworker for sales: what your reps can really do with it

Agentforce Coworker for sales, explained, by Bitscale

Most of the coverage of Agentforce Coworker asks what the AI can do. I think sales leaders should ask a different question first: what will it say when the record it reads is wrong? Coworker doesn't hedge. It reads your CRM and answers in clean, confident sentences. If the CRM is incomplete, the answer is confidently incomplete.

The short answer: Agentforce Coworker is Salesforce's AI teammate, built into Salesforce search and the Lightning interface. Reps ask it plain-language questions across CRM records, Slack and other connected sources, and it can plan and carry out tasks, such as drafting emails or updating records, within each user's existing permissions. Salesforce has been switching it on for eligible orgs since August 10, 2026. Its answers are only as good as your CRM records, which is why we built Bitscale to keep Salesforce contacts, titles and signals complete and current through two-way sync.

Before you roll it out to reps, check that:

  • The fields Coworker will filter on (tier, owner, stage, amount, close date) are filled in.
  • Contacts on open accounts are current, with verified emails and phones.
  • Activity is logged, so "no outreach in 30 days" means what it says.
  • Permissions and Agent Actions are set the way you want before anyone writes records.

What is Agentforce Coworker?

Salesforce describes Agentforce Coworker as an AI teammate built directly into Salesforce. Trailhead places it inside Salesforce Global CRM Search: reps reach it from the search bar or the Ask button in Lightning and the Salesforce Mobile app. Salesforce's August 4, 2026 launch post describes three modes:

  • Find. Ask a question in plain language and get an answer drawn from connected data, not a list of search results.
  • Catch up. Coworker surfaces what changed and keeps the context of the conversation.
  • Plan and act. It runs multi-step work, triggers Flows and hands tasks to specialized Agentforce agents, such as a Sales Coach agent.

Salesforce calls it the single entry point to every agent a team creates: the rep asks, and Coworker routes the request.

What Coworker connects to

By default, Coworker reads Salesforce CRM: accounts, opportunities, contacts, cases and custom objects. Everything else is opt-in, according to Trailhead and Salesforce's help FAQ:

Source How it connects Notes (per Salesforce)
Salesforce CRM On by default Accounts, opportunities, contacts, cases, custom objects
Slack Admin connects in Setup Channels and conversations the user can already access
Data 360 objects Admin connects in Setup Ingesting and indexing uses Flex Credits or Data Services Credits
Google Drive, Gmail, Google Calendar Federated, queried in real time Each user connects their own Google account
Other enterprise sources Data 360 connectors The product page cites 300+ sources

Salesforce's product page lists Salesforce, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Claude, ChatGPT and mobile as places Coworker lives. The August launch post said only the Salesforce surface was live then, with web, Teams, ChatGPT, Claude and a desktop app coming later in 2026. If you plan to roll it out outside Salesforce, confirm which surfaces are live in your org first.

If your team is weighing Coworker against the Claude plugin, our guide to Salesforce in Claude covers that product, how the "force" names fit together, and its 37 sales skills. Here I'll stay on Coworker.

How Coworker respects permissions

This is the part of the design I like most. Coworker doesn't introduce a new security model. Per Trailhead, it follows your sharing rules, profiles, permission sets and Data 360 policies. Users see only data they already have access to, and no new security setup is required.

Writing is more controlled than reading:

  • Record changes are off until an admin turns them on. In Setup, under Manage Data, the admin enables Agent Actions for Salesforce.
  • Changes run as the user. Coworker checks the user's permissions when they confirm an action.
  • Batch size is capped. With Agent Actions on, Coworker can create or update up to 15 records in a single command.
  • Access is assigned. Admins grant it through the Agentforce Coworker permission set group.

My take: the permission model is sound, but it protects who sees the data. It does nothing about whether the data is right.

Agentforce for sales: what a rep can actually ask

Salesforce's launch post uses these sales questions as examples. They're a good guide to what a rep will try in week one:

  • "Which Tier 1 accounts haven't had outreach in 30 days?"
  • "What deals slipped yesterday?"
  • "Which opportunities over $250K are at risk this quarter?"
  • "Summarize everything that's happened on the GlobalTech opportunity closing this quarter"
  • "Draft personalized reengagement emails to the three decision-makers at GlobalTech"

Read them again with a RevOps eye. Every one is a query against specific fields:

Question What Coworker has to read What breaks the answer
Tier 1 accounts with no outreach in 30 days Account tier, logged activity Tier left blank; calls and emails not logged
Deals that slipped yesterday Close date and stage history Close dates nobody updates
Opportunities over $250K at risk Amount, stage, next step Placeholder amounts; stale stages
Summarize the GlobalTech opportunity Activity, cases, connected Slack Notes kept outside Salesforce
Reengagement emails to three decision-makers Contacts, current titles, verified emails Contacts who left; missing roles; bounced emails

Where I think Coworker helps most is the first hour of a rep's day: a pipeline view, a deal summary and a follow-up draft, each from one question instead of a dozen record clicks.

My take: Coworker turns bad CRM data into confident wrong answers

Here's what most teams get wrong. They treat CRM hygiene as a reporting problem, survivable because a human reads the report and spots the gaps.

Coworker removes that human filter. It doesn't say "this record looks old." It says "here are the three decision-makers at GlobalTech" and drafts three emails.

As an illustration only: say two of those three contacts changed jobs last quarter and nobody updated Salesforce. Coworker drafts warm, well-written emails to two people who no longer work there and one to a mid-level contact. The rep sees a finished task, not a data gap. The same goes for the Tier 1 question. If a third of your accounts have no tier, they never show up in the answer, and nobody notices they're missing.

So I'd frame the rollout this way: Coworker is a multiplier on your CRM. Clean records give you a fast, useful teammate. Thin records give you fast, polished mistakes. Salesforce's own Trailhead module notes that results aren't always consistent; I wouldn't add bad inputs on top of that.

This is the gap we built Bitscale to close. We fill and refresh the records inside Salesforce, so Coworker and every other agent read the same, current data.

If you're also rolling out Salesforce's outbound agent, I covered its data needs in getting your CRM ready for Salesforce Hunter.

Who gets Agentforce Coworker, and what it costs

Salesforce's own pages don't agree on status, so here's exactly what each says:

  • Automatic enablement. The enablement FAQ (August 5, 2026) says Salesforce began switching Coworker on, on a rolling basis, from August 10, 2026 for customers with unmetered user-based AI seats. Admins get an email first and can opt out.
  • Beta or GA. The help FAQ (August 4, 2026) calls it a beta, English only. Salesforce's Dreamforce recap (September 28, 2026) lists it as GA. Check Setup > Agentforce Coworker in your own org.
  • Excluded orgs. Orgs without generative AI turned on, multi-dataspace or multi-org setups, HIPAA, HLS and government orgs.
  • Credits. Searching CRM and Slack through Coworker doesn't use Flex Credits for Agentforce 1 Edition or Agentforce for Sales, Service or Industries seats. Connecting Data 360 objects does use credits.
  • Limits. Seat-based licenses allow up to 30 LLM calls per minute per user, and one question can trigger several calls. Files over 75MB aren't indexed.

Salesforce hasn't published a separate list price, and its September 15 AIforce announcement says pricing and packaging are subject to change. It also says 100,000 users activated Coworker within its first 35 days.

Get your CRM ready for Coworker: a short checklist

Agentforce Coworker readiness checklist: the fields each sales question reads, with Bitscale filling contacts, titles and signals in Salesforce

Here's what I'd do before telling reps to rely on it:

  1. Fill the filter fields. Tier, owner, industry, size and region on every active account. Coworker can only filter on what's there.
  2. Complete the buying group. A contact for each role you sell to on every open opportunity.
  3. Verify contacts. Current title and employer, verified email and phone. Flag job changes.
  4. Log activity in Salesforce. Calls, emails and meetings, or connect the sources where they live.
  5. Keep deal fields honest. Amount, stage, close date and next step, updated weekly.
  6. Put signals in fields. Funding, hiring and leadership changes on the account, where Coworker can read them.
  7. Set permissions and actions. Review sharing rules, then decide who gets Agent Actions.
  8. Refresh on a schedule. A one-time cleanup decays. Make enrichment run on its own.

How Bitscale helps

Coworker reads Salesforce. Bitscale makes sure what it reads is complete and true. Bitscale handles the data points on that checklist: 1, 2, 3, 6 and 8.

Fill and fix records inside Salesforce

  • Two-way Salesforce sync on Booster that writes back only changed fields. Pull a Salesforce report or SOQL query into a live grid, enrich it, and push updates back with field-level control over what Bitscale may change.
  • 18+ providers in one email and phone waterfall, with 95% email and phone coverage and bounce rates below 0.5%. That's how the "three decision-makers" question gets real people with working emails.
  • Job-change, bad-email and dead-domain flags, so stale contacts are caught before Coworker drafts to them.

Give Coworker context to reason about

  • 15 buying triggers, such as funding, hiring and leadership changes, written to account fields where Coworker can read them.
  • An AI research agent that researches websites, Google and Perplexity for company details, decision-makers, tech stacks, funding and hiring, then structures it into fields.

What it costs

Plan Price Credits
Free $0 200
Growth $349/mo ($314 annually) 15K/mo
Booster $799/mo ($719 annually) 50K/mo

Pricing is per account, actions are unlimited on paid plans, and credits roll over up to 3x. Salesforce sync starts on Booster; HubSpot sync starts on Growth. Every paid plan includes GTM engineer support, with a dedicated engineer on Enterprise. Bitscale holds a G2 rating of 4.8/5. See CRM enrichment for the full feature set.

Frequently asked questions

What is Agentforce Coworker?

Agentforce Coworker is Salesforce's AI teammate, built into Salesforce search and Lightning. Reps ask plain-language questions across CRM, Slack and connected sources, and it can plan and carry out tasks within their existing permissions.

Is Agentforce Coworker generally available?

Salesforce's pages differ. Its help FAQ (August 4, 2026) calls it a beta, while its Dreamforce recap (September 28, 2026) lists it as GA. Salesforce began enabling it for eligible orgs on August 10, 2026.

Does Agentforce Coworker cost extra?

Salesforce hasn't published a separate price. Searching CRM and Slack doesn't use Flex Credits for Agentforce 1 Edition or Agentforce for Sales seats, but connecting Data 360 objects does use credits.

Can Agentforce Coworker update Salesforce records?

Yes, if an admin turns on Agent Actions. It can then create or update up to 15 records in one command, and every change runs with the user's own permissions, checked when they confirm.

How is Agentforce Coworker different from Salesforce in Claude?

Coworker runs inside Salesforce, in search and Lightning. Salesforce in Claude is a plugin that runs inside Claude with 37 sales skills. Both read your Salesforce data and respect user permissions.

Do I need to clean my CRM before using Agentforce Coworker?

You don't have to, but Coworker answers from your records. Blank fields, stale titles and missing contacts become confident wrong answers. Bitscale fills and refreshes them in Salesforce through two-way sync.
