U.S. Military HIV Research Program

Overview

The U.S. Military HIV Research Program (MHRP) is a federally funded initiative established in 1986 to combat HIV infection among U.S. and allied military personnel. Operating under the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, MHRP focuses on developing an HIV-1 vaccine, advancing prevention and treatment strategies, and conducting impactful research on HIV/AIDS.
