Overview

Liberty University is a private Christian university located in Lynchburg, Virginia. Founded in 1971 by Jerry Falwell Sr., it began as Lynchburg Baptist College and has since grown into one of the largest Christian universities in the world. The university offers over 700 academic programs, awarding associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. It has a diverse student body of more than 140,000, including a significant number of online students through its Liberty University Online Programs.
