Overview

Boston Public Schools (BPS) is the oldest public school system in the United States, established in 1647. It serves over 48,000 students from pre-kindergarten through grade 12 across Boston. BPS is historically significant, being home to the nation’s first public school, Boston Latin School, and has evolved into a nationally recognized urban school district.
